2009 Harley Cross Bones
Thank God There's Harleys... So, let's show them!
Travis from San Antonio, Texas, United States made available these photographs of his 2009 Harley Cross Bones motorcycle on which he replaced the big and heavy HD ducktail with a beautiful Bobber style rear fender that hugs the rear tire. Travis also installed a very interesting LED light system that makes his bike really stand out at night!

The Night Time, Is the Right Time...
Travis: "I have lit the bike bike up from the front tire to the rear tire with red and yellow LED lights which makes this bike really something to look at when it is dark outside."
We Saved the Best for Last...
Without a doubt, the best part of this Cross Bones is the rear end. Travis has replaced the big unwieldy 1970's style HD ducktail with this gracious bobber style rear fender that hugs the rear tire and that properly fits in the era represented by the Springer fork of this motorcycle.
The bobbed rear fender is attached to the Softail rear swing arm, making it possible to keep the fender close to the tire without the danger of the tire touching the fender.
This rear fender arrangement does affect the unsprung mass of the bike and will therefore - marginally - decrease overall performance, but it will also make the bike lighter and it looks sooo much better!
While this neat Cross Bones motorcycle, with her front fender and dual headlights, is not really a Bobber, the tail end is Bobber style beyond any doubt!
Actually, this 2009 Harley Cross Bones is currently for sale.
